Continuation of Thesis Project
As I've started really honing in on my drag asethic and career, I've thought it would be the perfect opportunity to continue my exploration of photographic editing mixed with rendering different backgrounds within the locations. Recently, I've been playing around with some of the AI tools on photoshop such as the generative fill.
Photo Set 1 - The End of an Era
For this first set, I really wanted to make a large impact on how I'm entering a new era and persona for my drag aesthetic. I'm going for something more regal and dramatic, with still a touch of seductress.

I shot these photos with a timer, a Nikon DSLR, a couple of small mono lights, and a speed light flash. Luckily, there is a brutalist stone high school right behind my apartment complex, and in the dead of winter, the snow on the ground adds just the perfect effect of isolation.

I made the dress myself using Black velvet, Satin, Mesh, Feathers, Rhinestones, Beads, and embellishments.

Photo Set 2 - Heritage Embrace
For this photoset I wanted to showcase where the woman in the first set came from. I wanted to show that shes powerful, represents more than just beauty, and is here to conquer. As an individual who was adopted from Kharkiv Ukraine I always want to find ways to embrace my ethnicity. In my drag persona, Dimitria Volcolv is a play on my birth name, which is just the male version of "Dimitri".

The name relates to the goddess Demeter, who is the goddess of agriculture since Ukraine is the bread basket of Europe. However, they are entering their third consecutive year of being at war with Russia, and I personally feel that due to recent developments around the world, people have forgotten about Ukraine.
